In the first quarter of 2022, the top tools apps on the Android platform in the United States showcased diverse performance trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, the top five applications were NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy, Norton360 Antivirus & Security, Norton VPN – Fast & Secure, Pokémon HOME, and AVG AntiVirus & Security.

NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy from Nord Security experienced a steady rise in weekly revenue, peaking at roughly $140K in late February. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, varying between 31K and 42K, with a noticeable increase to 41.5K in the last week of March. The app also saw weekly active users fluctuate around the 600K mark, ending the quarter with about 616K users.

Norton360 Antivirus & Security had a consistent weekly revenue stream, reaching its highest at approximately $70K in late March. Downloads ranged from 20K to 25K throughout the quarter, while its active user base saw a gradual increase, ending the quarter with about 154K users.

Norton VPN – Fast & Secure displayed varied weekly revenue, hitting a peak of around $53K at the end of March. Downloads fluctuated significantly, starting at 30K and dropping to around 14K mid-quarter before recovering to 23K by the end. Active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter with approximately 152K users.

Pokémon HOME saw a sharp spike in revenue in mid-February, reaching approximately $121K, but then declined to around $23K by the end of March. Weekly downloads decreased steadily from 13K to about 6.4K. The app's active user base also saw a decline, ending the quarter with around 59K users.

AVG AntiVirus & Security experienced consistent weekly revenue, peaking at about $44K in the last week of March. Downloads ranged from 25K to 38K, showing an upward trend towards the end of the quarter. Active users oscillated around 400K, ending the quarter with approximately 402K users.
